Aunt Belle who has a thing about alligators, and uncle Jimbuddy who has a knack for losing pieces of him self. I had some big laughs because her humor is so infectious with her account of rural southern life with her family and a very, very, odd assortment of relatives and friends! It is a real life Lake Woebegon.gone crazy! Bailey's mama is the center character and and she is a very unique(to say the least!) and charming person who will take you to a juke joint that was so raunchy it scared Ernest Hemingway, and then tuck you into a bed that folds up on you as you're sleeping. Bailey White isn't just an author, she's an original! Her observations of Southern life and tradition from a young girl's point of view are pure genius! She dramatizes so naturally the warmth and humor of her youth.
